Homemade Condiments Recipes

Many of our favorite well known small health and wellness brands continue to sell out to big food companies which can alter ingredients, formulations and diverge where money is going to. Companies like Garden of Life, Vital Proteins and Primal Kitchen have sold out to bigger brands like Kraft and Nestle. For consumers who support small business this is a huge negative for us! When a small company is bought out by big food - the money is now funneled towards the agenda the parent company has.

For companies like Nestle, this means bottling water and selling it because they don't see it as a human right. Watch Rotten - Troubled Water on Netflix Season 2 for more on Nestle. Big food companies like Kraft take on smaller, cleaner brands because they don't want to lose money in the market since their products all contains fillers, dyes and artificial sweeteners which more people are steering away from! What better way to keep your company alive than to buy a smaller brand in the clean market?

Here is some correspondence between myself and primal kitchen when I tagged them in an instagram post that they had sold out to Kraft:

Primal Kitchen: We continue to run autonomously and none of our products or ingredients has changed. Being under a larger brand (Kraft) we have been able to bring our products into more stores and expand worldwide and expand our line of products. We stayed a small brand for a long time but to change the way the world eats and to get our message and mission across we needed help to grow 💚

Me: I don’t care about the ingredients changing I care about where the money is going changing. Everything can stay clean and organic and all that’s great but it’s going to a brand that adds horrible chemicals and dyes to all their other foods which continue to disease. There’s a lot of other investors you could have had fund your expansion or grow slower 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s sacrifice to be small but have ethics. Reach less people - give no money to companies who poison the world.

Primal Kitchen: The company did the smaller investors for years unfortunately still very limited. Our goal is to change the food world and shopping to give people better options. We appreciate the feedback 💚

Me: You don’t change the food world by selling out to the devil 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ingredients, ethics and morals all play a crucial role when deciding on brands to support and bring into your home.
